Building an HP-UX kernel

Hello,

I am trying to rebuild an HP-UX 11.11 kernel because I have changed a
parameter (nfile to be precise). Now I wanted to rebuild the kernel
using the following command:

/usr/sbin/mk_kernel -s /stand/system.example -o /stand/vmunix.example

But unfortunately I get the following error message:

Generating module: krm...
Generating module: rng...
Compiling conf.c...
cpp: warning: Cannot open message catalog: "/usr/lib/nls/msg/C/cpp.cat".
cpp: "/usr/conf/sys/statvfs.h", line 40: error 4036:

cpp: "/usr/conf/sys/statvfs.h", line 43: error 4036:

cpp: "/usr/conf/sys/statvfs.h", line 44: error 4036:

cpp: "/usr/conf/sys/statvfs.h", line 83: error 4036:

*** Error exit code 1

Stop.
config: make did an exit(1)

Also with SAM no chance it doesn't work neither... Does anyone know what
the problem could be ?

Thanks
Regards

One thing you can do is compare/contrast the /usr/conf/sys/statvfs.h
file against another similar system. One of my clients had a
/usr/conf/sys/sleep.h that would occasionally disappear for reasons
that no one could explain.

If you can list those files, you could have too many files open:
$ dumpmsg /usr/lib/nls/msg/C/cpp.cat | fgrep 4036
4036 %2$s, line %3$d: error %1$d: Can't open include file '%4$s'.

[fbsd62/amd64] building mplayer and svga libs...
Hi all, As everybody knows, svga libs is not supported under amd64 arch. So /var/db/ports/mplayer/options file has the line: WITHOUT_SVGALIB=true Nevertheless, building mplayer try to build svga lib, and of course, fails. To fix this issue, I had to comment some lines in the Makefile: #.if defined(WITH_SVGALIB) #LIB_DEPENDS+= vga.1:${PORTSDIR}/graphics/svgalib #.else CONFIGURE_ARGS+= --disable-svga #.endif Note that, as I don't want aalib in mplayer, I have to do the same thing for it: #.if defined(WITH_AALIB) #LIB_DEPENDS+= aa.1:${PORTSDIR}/graphics/aa...

Thoughts on HP Compaq NC8000 and NW8000
Hi, I'm after a notebook with top end 3D performance for demoing a realtime 3D graphics application that my company sells. From my searching so far the NC8000 and NW8000 seem to to have the best 3D cards with more memory than is normally available on the nVidia FX cards. They also seem to have all the other standard business features that I would need - decent sized hard drives, bluetooth, wifi etc. Does anyone have any experience with, or comments to make about either of these machines, or suggest an even better solution. Within reason, performance is more important to me than price. ...

HP Solution Center
I have two HP printers in my home network (a 2600n LaserJet and a C7280 AIO InkJet). My problem is that both printers have their own software solution centers or toolboxes. Is there a HP software solution to consolidate software packages for two or more different printers? ...

building a booklet
Hi, Can some one get me started on the easiest way to build a booklet with half-sheet pages (5.5 x 8.5 tall) so that the text will flow so that when I print it out the masters will be ready to copy. MOZILLA packages from HP
I noticed that HP now packages up MOZILLA with separate bundles for PA-RISC and IA-64 systems. Unfortunately the bundles have identical name and version numbers, and they do not have the "machine_type" tag set at the bundle level. So if you have both bundles in the same depot and try to load them on, say, a, IA box at 11.23, there is little to tell them apart in the swinstall GUI. To fix this I did a little trick with swmodify: $ swmodify -d -a machine_type="9000/*" \ MOZILLA,r=1.7.13.01.00,a=HP-UX_B.11.00_32/64,v=HP @ (depot) $ swmodify -d -a machine_type="...

HP Photosmart C6280 and duplex printing under Vista
