Changing the baud rate of the console

  • Follow

We've changed the baud rate on the console from 9600 to 19200.
We've updated the console entry in /etc/gettydefs:

console # B19200 SANE CLOCAL CS8 ISTRIP IXANY TAB3 HUPCL
	  # B19200 SANE CLOCAL CS8 ISTRIP IXANY TAB3 HUPCL
	  #Console Login: #console

The inittab entry hasn't changed:

cons:123456:respawn:/usr/sbin/getty console console # system console

After a reboot, HP-UX still transmits and receives at 9600. What
are we missing ?

(This is for HP-UX 11.22 on ia64).

Have you gone into the GSP {CTRL}-B and set the console speed with the CA
command? (i assume that the commands are the same as on the HP9000)
