need a way to determine which workstation clients are connected to a given
server process.

My prior experience has been on Solaris. Currently using 'pfiles' command to
achieve this functionality on Solaris 2.8;  can find no such capabilities in
HPUX 11 man pages.

Any suggestions as to what I can use?

I suspect that lsof may get you at least a decent chunk of the way to
where you want to be.  It may be part of the Internet Express stuff,
but if not, it would likely be in one of the porting archives, or you
can just grab source and compile your own.
