Hi all,
I'm having a problem with NFS mounted directories. The fully
qualified domain name is 67 characters. The NFS mount fails with the
message:
nfs mount: mount_nfs: mount: /test: No such file or directory
But, the directory is exported from the NFS server, and does exist
(and is empty, with no users accessing the mount point) on the client.
When I use only the short hostname of the NFS server, the mount
succeeds.
I have experimented and found the limit on a fully qualified domain
name to be 32 characters. I can't find a man page reference to that
limit in nsf, mount, export, or fstab. Is that a configurable limit,
or not? If it is configurable, how?
I'm running HP-UX 11i V2.0 (11.23), on a 2 way Itanium.
Thanks,
Stan
