Install Apache 2.0 on HP-UX 11
I'm running into trouble while installing the apache 2.0 server. I
have configured the install script "./configure --prefix=/opt/apache"
and compiled with "make" the server. Now i want to install the apache
server with "make install" but the script aborted with an error:
chmod 555 /opt/apache/lib/libexpat.sl.1.0
chmod: can't access /opt/apache/lib/libexpat.sl.1.0
It seems there are more problems, i've got also this messages before
the script ends:
cp killbatch /opt/batch
cp: cannot access killbatch: No such file or directory

Hi, i have had apache die on me recently and have decided to reinstall.
During the install it complains that the service was not present and then
continues to say installation successfully complete. I restart my compyuter
and start apache but it is no where to be seen.

I'm installing Apache for the first time on my home machine, XP Pro. Of
course, the very first screen has me "Lost." It asks for my network domain
and network servername.
How do I go about finding what the network domain and network servername are
for my machine?

If you are just installing Apache for personal use (no one is going to
connect from another computer), the domain doesn't really matter and the
server name is "...Cannot install Apache

I get this sometimes due to conflicts with other software I have running at

I got a PC with a preloaded OS called Linspire which as it turns out is
a Debian variant. I am trying to install Apache 2.2.0 on this. The
Linspire support group endorses a paid service called CNR for all app
installs and I am trying to buck this. Hence my posting here.
I followed the instructions on the Apache website and got the download
and extract right. Then I ran ./configure --prefix=/usr/local/apache
There were tonnes of messages on the console and then it came back to
the prompt. But I didn't see any directory created under /usr/local
