IPV6 on HP-UX 11

  • Follow

My HP-UX 11 (B.11.10) system has no #defines for ipv6 related
constants e.g. AF_INET6, PF_INET6. Does it mean my system doesn't
support IPV6 or its include files are somewhere else? I tried
grep/find in all include directories. If my system doesn't has IPV6,
how should I proceed to enable it? How can I say my system supports
IPV6 or not?

11.10 is supposed to be dead and burried by now. Just what sort of
system do you have?

IPv6 is only available on 11.11 and later. There is no way to enable
IPv6 on 11.10.

So, the way to proceed is to upgrade your OS to 11.11 (11i v1) or
later. On 11.11 you can install a TOUR from software.hp.com that will
enable IPv6. It is my recollection that IPv6 is enabled by default on
11.23. (11i v2)

The real question is "Can it be patched?"
these opinions are mine, all mine; HP might not want them anyway... :)
feel free to post, OR email to raj in cup.hp.com but NOT BOTH...
