Out of disk space...troubles with interpreting df -k output

  • Follow

Hi all HP users,
I'm trying to install an application server (Bea Weblogic) on HP true 64
Unix. I'm really newbie
with this OS, I'm rather accustomed to Solaris and Linux.
So the problem is, I'm running out of disk space but I don't understand well
the output of df -k

Filesystem 1024-blocks Used Available Capacity
Mounted on
root_domain#root 512000 461100 44624 92%
/
/proc 0 0 0
100% /proc
prod_dmn#bea 17780480 169338 17594144 1%
/bea
......other fs

The installation goes on /bea which has enough space....but /bea belongs to
/ (which hasn't got
enough space for bea)...right ? the matter is that I cannot understand if /
and /bea are on different devices,
so that maybe /bea has a separate device........how do I know it ?

Moreover: what does it mean that /proc is 100% full ? that I cannot spawn
another process ?

Thanks a lot in advance
Francesco

Hi,
thanks for your reply but it seems I don't have bdf installed on my Os.

Well, you have /bea mounted on / and if the isntallation isntalles the
software on /bea you have about 18GB free. So if, provided the
isntallation isntalles on /bea and nowhere else, the isntallation runs
out of space, it needs more than 18GB. I would check that the
isntallation dosn't just link some other folder into the /bea and then
installs on /usr or /usr/local or such.

Hi Francesco

You are in the wrong newsgroup. This one is for HP-UX, the original
Hewlett Packard Unix. You are talking about the former DEC then Compaq
now HP Tru64 Unix.

So comp.unix.tru64 is your newsgroup.
