Hi!
I discovered a strange problem in Samba (CIFS-Server A.02.04) on HP-UX
11.31:
When specifying a "pid directory" in smb.conf, the file "smbd.pid" in
the specified directory was not updated, and it contained an obsolete
PID. Furthermore, I found a file "smbd-smb.conf.pid" instead.
Studying the documentation on smb.conf, I found no setting for the PID
file's name. I was assuming the file's name would be "smbd.pid".
Is this a known bug in HP's Samba?
Regards,
Ulrich

I only have one 11.31 currently run CIFS, but its A.02.03.04. Using the default
"pid directory" (i.e., not specified in smb.conf) I have both smbd.pid and
nmbd.pid in /var/opt/samba/locks, and both are updated as expected with a
restart.
