CN5 Serial Numbers

Would those lucky ones who happen to own HP49g+'s with serial numbers
starting with CN5 be kind enough to reveal their source?

I thank you much;

Luis

I think that the rumor on the new CN5 is only
bullshit.....unfortunately!

I have had the HP49G+ with Serial numbers CNA515.... for almost a Month
now and I just want to say that I just tried the analog clock and
cannot see any flickering. I am a school teacher who teaches
mathematics and I use my calculator to do a lot of programming so I
press quite a few keys. When I 1st received the new replacement serial
stated above I put it side by side with an hp48G I still have. The keys
on the hp49G+ (on mine) has the same feel and touch as the hp 48G. My
replacement came from California. There has not been a day that I
havenot had my hp49G+ in my hand to do some kind of math and writing
programs for formulas. I have not had but a very very very few misses
with the press of the keys and none in a while now. I have done work
with mine before and after I download the new Rom 2.0
and it is still working like new. I only wish I could mail it to you
today to see if you could find something wrong with it. When I 1st
got mine I tried moving each key several ways to see if any would be
shaky or maybe lose. They all press just like the hp48G keyboard. In
fact I have two hp49G+ because as a teacher I transfer data from one to
the other.

One last comment. At my school I have a hard time here in South
Carolina
(Summerville near Charleston) working with the TI-83 and teaching my
Algebra class with them since working with my HP49G+. I wish I could
talk my school into getting a set of hp calculators for my students but
they are so sold out on TI until I would almost be afraid to tell them
that I think HP calculators are a much better teaching tool for math.

Are you sure? Watch the clock closely for several seconds in good light.
It's not that much of a problem, since it's so hard to see (yesterday was
the first time I noticed it since I upgraded to 2.00).

By the way: I just noticed that it only flickers when the "face" is white
and the "hands" are dark (for some reason, the clock's color inverses
every 12 hours or so). So, if your clock looks like a dark circle rather
than a white circle inside a dark square, then you won't see any
flickering.

As am I.

I used to think that it switched to show AM/PM, but since it switches at
(I think) 7:00, that's obviously not it.

It's day & night then
VPN
PS: if it is at 7 am (7 pm) when it switches
you can easily tell AM, PM too
    from the day/night convention

Do you mean the analog clock? I don't use it, since it isn't accurate to
read. If so, I'll try it to see whether it happens on my calculator.

wiltin,

Can you reveal your source please, i.e. where did you buy your calculator
from. thank you.

also for those who bought the 49g+ from the recent amazon.com deal, what
serial number you get?

Someone over at hpmusuem reported that they got the new CNA5 ones. I
didn't buy one, so I can't say for sure if that is true.

Hi,
I have one of the amazon recent deals on the way. I'll let
you know what serial it has when I get it.

Cheers

Are your really talking about CN5 or CNA5 ?

If the last one - I got mine about 3 Month ago from Sam's Club.
