Converting 48 ROM Dump for EMU48

  • Follow

....I'm having a problem converting an HP-48 ROM Dump, Ver R, into the binary
dataset that is needed for the EMU48 emulation. I'm wondering if someone here
can tell me what I'm doing wrong.

Both the "convert" app and the ROM image were downloaded from the hpcalc web
site. After unzipping both, I read the instruction, which say to open a DOS
window and perform the conversion there. After some false starts, I ended up
copying both the convert app and the ROM image to the C drive. The command I
used was:

C:\> C:\convert <C:\gxrom-r> C:\ROM.48G

The syntax was taken from the instructions in the emulation download, where
"convert" is the conversion application, "gxrom-r" is the ROM Dump and
"ROM.48G" is supposed to be the converted binary file (I guess...). I had to
add the path components to get anything at all to happen (otherwise, I got
error messages).

Unfortunately, the resulting "ROM.48G" file contains only a text comment:
"Usage is convert <oldROMDump> [<newROMDump>]" or some message like that.

Does anyone know how to get the converted file? Thanks in advance
