EMU48 Screen Contrast under WINE

  • Follow

I've been trying to get EMU48 to work under WINE/FreeBSD, I have the
latest version from hpcalc.org and I am using the HP49 Rom file from
HP's own HP49 emulator.

It seems to work fairly well, except that the "lcd" screen contrast
controls don't seem to do anything. HP48 kml scripts seem to have decent
default contrasts, but the HP49 scripts are too dim for practical use.
I'd like to use "Emu H49 V 2.1", but it has the worst contrast of all.

Is there a workaround for this?

Good for you that Wine works with Emu48 :) Which version of Wine have
you got ? I tried a lot of time to make Emu48 work with Wine but I have
never success.

You can try to change the hp49 kml scripts by editing the right file
with an editor.

I have been using Emu48 1.20 with Wine for quite a while. Currently, I
have Wine 20040309 installed and running.

As for contrast, it seems to work ... but is quite random in what colors
the display turns. If increasing doesn't work, try decreasing the
contrast ... and vice-versa.

And I have no idea which KML script I use ... I never could get the
Emu48 from HPcalc.org to work, so I downloaded a pre-packaged Emu48 +
KML + ROM.
