hp48g to XP via kermit

  • Follow

I am having major connection issues connecting my HP48G to my XP box via
kermit. I have followed the advice of a bunch of how to's and documentation
(using kermit95), but to no avial. I can't even get the to to connect to
each other.

should i be using c-kermit? perhaps? I am getting the impression that
kermit-95 is overkill.

another issue is that I am just using 4 wires (taken from a internal cd-rom
audio cable) to connect the four pins from the hp48g to the serial port
(carfully following the documentation located in 27-7 of the HP48G users
manual which describes the pins used) I plan on buying the real deal soon
and this is a temporary fix.

in the mean time, is there a way to transfer to/from a palm pilot IR port to
my HP48G? this would also be acceptable.

thanks,

dave
