Just in case you didn't know, the presentation of the new HP17bii+ is
available there:

Nice site called Classic Calculators offering a non official anoucemed
product :-)
Nice seeing new HP Calcs products coming!

I don't have one but from remote advice on solver porting
indeed have learned that the 17BII+ solver computes
EXP(-D1^2/2) as EXP(-D1). The 18C and 17Bii I have compute
this as EXP(-(D1^2)/2). This is strange because even the
17BII+ computes D1^2/2 as (D1^2)/2 so it seems that the
precedence just gets lost in the exponent expression. I wonder
where they got the solver code from for the 17BII+?? Possibly
a third party product? It seems more like a 17B+, or 17B-?

Good, so we have a work-around for that - buy a 17BII+ ;-)

Yes, somewhat worryingly, a simple test case:
A=-B^2
Gives A=-9 for B=3 on the old HP17Bii but A=9 on the new HP17Bii+.
Oh well... :-)
