It's really not clear what you mean by "search for a specific message
block" since there's no "key" field in a message block. Therefore,
the best thing to do is to use the ACE_Message_Queue::ITERATOR
mechanism to examine each message block and use whatever specific
criteria you define in order to locate the message you want.
> 2. What is ...Messages never read from message queue !!!
I'm facing a very strange behaviour using message queues on... Linux !
My two processes let say P1 & P2 are child of the "main" process a
P1 sends six messages, the ID's are 3, 2, 1, 5, 4 & 6
And P2 gets 3, 2, 1 & 5 ... The two last are lost !
Well not really because when I launch a "ipcs" I see them in the queue
So why (the hell) the P2 doesn't read them ?
Thanks a lot in advance

RCVMSG command turn a message to old when you specify RMV(*NO).
You'll get the same behavior using QMHRCVM API specifying *OLD for
"Message action" parameter.
...sending a message to a non program message queue
Basically, I want the messages I send to a message queue to display as
one line. Just like job completion messages. Not as two lines, the
first containing the user name of the sender and the second containing
the message text.
When I use the QMHSNDM api the message displays as two lines. Whether
the message type is *INFO or *COMP.
When I send a message using the SNDPGMMSG command, the message does
display as one line.
A message sent using the SNDMSG displays as two lines.
I thought the answer was the severity of the message. Messages sent
using SNDMSG arrive with severity 80 and display as two lines. Job
completion messages are severity 00 and display as one line. I notice
also that messages sent using SNDPGMMSG are severity 40.
But ... a *COMP message sent using the QMHSNDM api arrives with
severity 00 and displays as two lines!
How do I control how a message is displayed in the message queue?
How do I assign the severity of a message when I send it?
You have to create a message id in a user defined message file (*MSGF)
using the wrkmsgd command

We have 2 kernel threads running. One thread1 needs to send some

thread2, it would take up lot of time.
Is there a way of passing messages between the kernel threads, through

kindly suggest a solution for the above problem.

Sorry 'bout that, I should have checked that first. It tells me quite a
