Knights of the Old Republic 2 The Sith Lords no-CD?

Just wondering:

Is there a working and reliable no-CD patch for the LATEST version of KotOR
2 "The Sith Lords"? I just bought it new, but am already fed up of the sound
of my CD drive constantly whirring up to high speed and down again.

I've tried looking on the usual sites. Megagames has nothing at all, in fact
they don't even have anything for the original KotOR. GameCopyWorld has one
for KotOR 2, but I don't trust it - the "fixed EXE" is a third of the size
of the actual EXE that the game CD installed on my computer (most normal
Fixed EXEs are the same size), and AVG reports a trojan in the package
(specifically one called Delf.CKC). Reading the forums there is very
uninformative, although nobody seemed to have a good word for the
person/group who actually contributed the Fixed Exe that's there.

Unfortunately the game is now old enough, and was reported to be buggy
enough, that I wonder if enough people are even still playing it for it to
be worth making a reliable no-CD version...

Jonathan.

Pretty sure the one at GameCopyWorld (the v2.1.0.0 - English - Fixed
EXE) worked for me back in the day. I don't know if that's for the
latest version of KOTOR2, though.

You really can't tell anything from a smaller file size. Cracks are
usually similar in size, but not always. It depends how much copy
protection code has to be ripped out.

There's two EXEs in the zip from GCW. Try scanning just swkotor2.exe
again with AVG or something else. The other EXE might be causing the
trojan hit, but you don't need it, so just delete it.

I have KOTOR 1st installed & have also run KOTOR II without a disc.
Both the same engine.
There is a starter LAUNCHER.EXE & SWKOTOR.EXE the cracked needs to be in
the swkotor.exe ...in this case the original is some 5 Megs & the No Disc
cracked version is some 3 megs...So I think the ones you have found are OK.
