Does anyone know about this monitor?

NEG A150X1T02

I cannot find anything about the company.

The picture quality appeared very good and the specs seemed competitive as
well.

Steve,

Anyone contacted you about this monitor? The specs look good. Response
time of 14ms (according to one of the reviewers) and digital? Sounds
too good to be true. They have it on sale here in ME, the A170X1T01
for $279 after rebates.

It is made by CHI MEI in Taiwan (it says so on the back). They appear to be
a quality manufacturer, making that big display for IBM. However, the
warranty is only a year compared to three for most name brands. The website
for liquidvideo brand is nonexistient although you can find OEM info on the
various CHI MEI sites.

The image does look different from most LCD's apparently they use a
different technology. Looking carefully at the 15" in the store, it appears
less resolution or fuzzy, more like a shadow mask CRT tube compared to a
aperture grille. I think that's what attracted me to the image, probably
great for non-text images. The Sony 15" appears to be very sharp for text.
The store uses them for their registers.

I will probably wait, but they still have the rebate going.

If anyone is interested, I picked up this monitor and I like it. What do I
like about it? I prefer the black finish over the silver and it has a nice
quality matte feel. The buttons are unobtrusive gray slivers without any
distracting white lettering. Yes, you may have to shine a light on the bezel
to read the buttons, but I'd rather do that infrequently than have them
blaring out at me. The logo is unobtrusive. Only a small status light is
visible on the front. I prefer the apdapter power supply because it means
less weight in the monitor itself and I do not like the heat internal
supplies throw off. The speakers are not worth talking about, useful for an
office, but use separate speakers with it. It is in general a quality built
unit as far as I can see. The image quality is equal to the various Sony,
Viewsonic, Samsung I see, with a little better horizontal viewing angle. The
response is 30ms, which is fine for the games I run, mostly FS2002. I did
notice a little ghosting when scrolling fast with ClearType enabled, but
it's not that annoying. It's very light weight compared to some monitors
with internal power supplies. The base is nice and wide for a stable support
and does not look like a chunk of lead like the Samsung.

The OSD brightness is in steps of 10, very large, I'd like finer control,
but I found it acceptable.

The warranty is only 1 year, but it is covered by CC if you buy it there, I
assume other retailers must provide a warranty, like OEM sellers. So far the
reviews on CC site have been positive.

It's made by CHI MEI and they have a site at

http://www.nexgen.com.tw

The image ought to be good given the make that big display for IBM.

NexGen? Didn't they manufacture Nx586 CPU's back there in last century? :)

Yeah, you will find a lot of that coming up in google. The company is Nexgen
Mediatech and is a shell for CHI MEI group TFT's sold with a LiguidVideo
brand.

I have the monitor now and it offers an excellent image and quality for the
price.

I picked up the 17" version, on sale at CC for $300 after rebate, and
it looks fine so far. If anything, the display was too bright, and I
had to turn it way down. It was a bit reddish as well, but a little
tweaking in the custom color correction menu fixed that.

I haven't run any games on it yet (it's on a non-gaming PC right now),
but it looks very good for the money. By the time I need to upgrade
from this one (a year or two), 19" will be under $300.

Yes, I keep the brightness turned all the way down.
