Solaris vs AIX adapter support
Time to fire up a bong of the bluest blue.
Can RS/6000 adapters be ported over to Solaris 2.6?
The SCSI, SCSI w/cache, Corvette, and Passplay/Cheetah are directly
supported.

If there is a way to ask a question, it's not on the auction page.
This adapter is NOT 100Mbit. Na-ah, it ain't.
BUT
Good performance under NT. This adapter has the POST/BIOS chip. $10 for
this card is so-so. You could do better for price.

the case was scrapped, though the FRU 92F0267 399.1 W PSU is included

Yup, I know it ain't PS/2......
TP600 trying to connect to my lan with a Cardbus PCMCIA by hard wire.
The problem here is that the card is a Chinese Junker I picked up off

All it has is an imprint in the plastic bulge on the RJ45 end which
says "lh008"......and googling brings up the number as PCMCIA Cardbus
ethernet adapter but I can't find any drivers for Windows 98se (and
yes, the card works fine with XP but this is my audio file machine and

When are mice and keyboard ports the same?
Folks, I've looked at the HITR
Keyboard and Auxiliary Device Controller
Keyboard 101- and 102-Key
And I'm confused, blue... The SDL keyboard cable I swept this morning
has the PS/2 pins at 1 oclock and 5 oclock N/C. The HITR seems to imply
the KB and mouse ports are the same, yet the auxiliary device controller
info seems to show the three oclock and 11 oclock pins N/C.
While my sweep of the SDL cable agrees with the HITR, there seems to be
some murkyness.
Is the difference in pins to keep a mouse vs KB swap issue?

Success! (The 8560 Saga)
Somehow, I've got it working again!
I took the FDD out and, throwing caution to the wind, took it to bits. The
foam pad had fallen off the head, so I've discarded it. Reinstalled it,
didn't work. Took it out again, tried cleaning it some more, put it back in.
This time, it read the reference disk! It checked everything, then said I
have a write failure on the HD error 0017520.
So I took the machine to bits again, and took out the HD (it's an 041). I'd
tried taking the cables off and putting them back on yesterday to no effect
btw.
So I decided that if it's dead, I might a

Well I've had a look inside. The head's foam pad/lid is unglued and has

SpinRite on a Model 55
I ran SpinRite 1.0 on my 8555-081 and stupidly didn't suppress low-
level formatting. I'm getting POST error 10483. Test on the Reference

drive is spinning up just fine. Perhaps SpinRite is incompatible with
the ESDI controller? SpinRite allegedly "withholds" low-level
formatting if it can't bypass the sector translation scheme. Is there
any way to low-level reformat the drive correctly again? I tried to
run SpinRite again, but the drive doesn't show up when I boot from a
floppy. Data on the hard drive is expendable. T
