years back to save space, but if I remember correctly, these are 512K MB
kits for the IBM

ones. All of these
were new and unopened when I got them, and I have opened a few to show
what is inside.
If there were 512K kits, then these are 256K each. Not positive. Chips
are Micron Tech

machine that

I am curious about this. I have been using SCSI since 1989, and I have
never know a SCSI standard to reach 100ft. ISTR 2-3 meters was max
length of SCSI-I, SCSI-II varied 7 to 12 meeters, and later SCSI
lengths were shorter due to the higher speeds of data transmission. Can
anyone comment on this? I tend to believe the auction is really for a
loooooong parallel printer cable.

I googled 34L7054, but most of the hits were from that auction or

A standard hard disk doesn't fit into this exactly. (I recently put a
Seagate Barracuda ST12550N into a 65SX.)
I was able to get the Seagate drive installed in a fairly secure way,
but if your drive doesn't fit well enough to be secure, you might have
to drill a set of screw holes.

New hard drive for IBM T20I need a new drive for my old T20. It's pretty full and Spinrite says it's
dying. The current drive is a Hitachi 11G, probably 4200 RPM. Of course I can
go bigger and faster, but should I? I just read a review at THG, which lavished
praise on the new 7200 RPM Hitachi, and says faster isn't a problem with power
consumption. But I'm concerned about heat. I leave my computer running almost
24/7. It's been dead reliable so far, and I don't want to mess with it. I know
others have had overheating problems after putting faster drives in older
machines. Noise is an issue too -- I like my computer to be as quiet as
possible. It's one reason I chose the T20 initially. Any thoughts?

As you would expect, each keyboard mates with one of the 5251 displays.
It's easy to tell which display was the system console (the badly
burned-in one on top) and which was the primary application console (the
pretty badly burned-in one on the bottom). The one in the middle that
has no visible burn-in probably saw very little use. I don't think that
the value of the system will improve very much in another 10 to 20 years
like the seller hopes, but everyone is entitled to dream.
If anyone was interested in a set of S/36 manuals, this auction looks
like a good bet, you might get a complete set and a few spares. A small
bid will probably win, then you have the seller ship you all of the
manuals via Media Mail, and then the seller could do as he liked with
the "heavy metal" (of course, you'd have to make sure that the seller
would go along with this scheme in advance).

IBM RS/6000 MCA SCSI Adapter vs. IBM PS/2 MCA SCSI AdapterHello,
I found in my MCA repository a (seems to be) functionnal RS/6000 32bit
SCSI Adapter.
In my '80, I have a (what seems to be, again) original PS/2 SCSI
Adapter, w/o cache. I found also a w/cache, but is faulty.
May I get better performance, any improvement of any kind trying this
RS/6000 Adapter, or is it not going to run at all...or will it be worse ?
I have a 0661 type HDD, 320 MB in the SCSI Chain.
Thanks !
Hum, as I see after some searches, it is RS/6000-only adapter, no ADF,
not useable in a PS/2...Can someone confirm this ?

On the metal card blockout for RS/6k adapters will be a identifying
tag. Something like "4-1" ("Narrow" SCSI adapter) or "4-6" (Differencial F/W
SCSI adapter). One particular (11H7660) "4-6" card does work in the PS/2.

The seller needs new glasses. The white label above the antistatic

for me to tell if the FRU number matches the part number listed in the
