This will be the very fastest 8550-031. A real hot 466 MHz Pentium CPU,
not a lame-duck hot-rodded T4 in a 9595A

Why W98? This one seems the perfect Datacenter Server and needs
something better like W2k3 Terminal server (running from floppy A:).

But the price still seems quite fair :-)

Sounds like a real winner. Description is total B.S. and didn't even
both with a picture or shipping. Why waste the time to list it? Why
not just throw it away if it's not worth any more effort than this, and
a $0.01 starting price.

See the QA exchange. It's a 50Z 486, the seller just doesn't know
anything about computers.

It's more than likely a Reply upgrade. I had several of those upgrades
NIB at one time. They came with a new badge in the kit that said "PS/2
50Z 486".

486 SLC, Cirrus Logic video etc... I gave them to a friend of mine who
turned some 50Zs he had into Linux boxen with those kits. I think he
even managed to get X working on them. That was in about 1997 or so.

Have lost track of the guy so I don't know if they still exist

Shipping seems a bit steep, but I'm very interested in documenting the fax board, if it turns out to be something special. (And I do need a Bermuda equipped 77 as the one from Canada got a bit "jarred" in shipment.) William Hello all (or anyone who's paying attention)... Well, that got here *quickly*. It's not nearly as dirty as the pictures in the auction suggested. The floppy drive acted rather sluggish at first (perhaps it was never used?) but loosened up as I worked with it. Peter has the ADF (7055) for the Kofax card, but his page refers to it as a KF9100/9200 Document Processor. A quick check of the ADF I have against Peter's collection doesn't show any obvious differences...mine says KF-7300 and that's it so far. The computer boots into OS/2 2.1 and displays an OS/2 desktop by way of an Image Adapter/A. (This is the first Image Adapter I've ever seen without any extra VRAM installed.) There's a scanning program installed, along with drivers for the 16/4 TR card in the machine and a setup that would seem to put all scanned data on some kind of server. Look for an outline soon.
