External IBM PC 5.25" Drive
Hi, Recently, I've been trying to get some data off a few 5.25" floppies I have. I found out that there was an External IBM PC 5.25" Drive created in the 1980s. However, it has a 37-pin male connector. A 37-pin female connector is not found on modern PCs. Is it possible to buy something such as an adapter that one can connect the 37-pin male connector to a parallel port adapter and then hook the device into the parallel port? Or would this create all sorts of problems? If it helps, I'm running Windows XP Home Edition but also have access to the first version ...

Just because it has an odd-ball size 37 pin connector, and needs a special card, what makes it SCSI. I have one of those in my attic with my other PS/2 boards and computers. Its common for people that don't have experience with PS/2s to call things SCSI when they aren't. I once worked on a 50 that had one of those DB37 ports with the 4 pin molex on it. The headers were mounted to an MCA slot cover. I can't remember if the internal cable was to the paddle card or what. Dual Floppy Disk Drive 3.5"/5.25" Teac FD-505
Hello, until 1996 there was with the Teac FD-505 a Combo (Dual) Floppy Disk Drive available which can handle 3,5" and 5,25". A view onto the url http://www.teac.com/DSPD/support/floppy_drives/floppy_drives.htm is showing that there were four model series existing: FD505-000, FD505-100, FD505-200 und FD505-300. And from that product lines submodels are for example FD-505-309-U, FD-505-300-U, FD-505-302-U, FD-505-318-U5. Has somebody an idea what are the differences between the models -000 to -300 and what stands behind the product nomenclature of these Teac combo driv...
