Hi !

I know there are a lot collectors, probably for this request as well ?

Thema: MCA documentation

Hi.

I'm not sure where to turn to. I noticed you've uploaded documentation
regarding MCA on your website. Would it be possible for you to somehow
aquire an update, namely "Update for the IBM Personal System/2 Hardware
Technical Reference" (S10G-6466). I have tried looking around but with
little luck. Perhaps you know the right people.

Cheers,
Bogdan

I have the original HITR an BITR, with some TNL updates, and extra
system-specific addenda, but the S10G-stuff was a completely restructured
set and I didn't see the need, myself, sorry.

That's what I have in the PDFs as well: the HITR plus some addendums.
So are the system-specifics - updated once parts were issued and sent
out by IBM. That's what I scanned later.

What can one use to convert scanned pages to PDF form, Peter? I should, at
least, scan my paper system-specific addenda and make those available. It's
not something that I've bothered to research, previously.

A) I use my Canon LIDE20 scanner, which scans directly to PDF. Many but
not all scanners have this function. My Epson Multifunction unit hasn't.
It is a licensing issue as far as I know.

B) I use PDFprint (or suchlike) installed as a printer and feed the
scanned graphics into e.g. a WinWord / WordPro / Writer file and print
it into PDF.

(Did a similar method back then for the manuals but using Adobe Acrobat
Exchange. Had a very old version which will not run on WXP. Ran under
W3.1x and W9x.)

C) Use OpenOffice Write "Export to PDF" function, but you need to create
a document with the scanned pages as well.

That's great thanks. Saved my a lot of time researching. I've installed
OpenOffice, but not used it yet. So that looks a likely option.

Give my best to Anke.

Don't forget to set the page borders to 0.00 before you paste in the
"per-page-scan"-graphic ... ;-)

Will do. Thanks. Time to go to bed anyway.
It was a stressy day today with a lot time on the road (and in jams).
Tomorrow will be another road rage again. Sigh.

I use CutePDF and Bullzip, both work well. It's how I save web pages for
future reference these days.

Hi, guys.

It's me who asked about the S10G-6466 update. I didn't know about this
group until Peter mentioned it in an e-mail. He also mentioned that
this document might be available at a library in Australia -- would
anyone know more about that?

Cheers,
Bogdan

I'm afraid that the document is not in that collection, I have already
looked. :-(
