Thinkpad Z61m - How do I use S Video?

  • Follow

My Thinkpad Z61m has an S video connector and so does my Sony XBR TV.
I have a bunch of digital pictures in Adobe Photoshop Album Starter
Edition and have viewed them full screen in a slide show on the
Thinkpad. Last night I connected an S video cable between the two
devices and tried but failed to see the images on my TV set. I used
the TV's remote control and switched through the various inputs, 1
through 6 on the TV but was unable to see the pictures on the TV. I
believe I had he S video cable connected to input #1. On the TV on #1
were he words NO SIGNAL.

I know I'm missing something or doing something wrong, but what is it?

Anybody know?

Thanks.

Is the S-Video port enabled in Thinkpad Setup?

I had to install some IBM stuff, one of which was Duovue contained in an IBM
package I forget the name of.

Then you turn on the external feature in Desktop settings.
Run the S cable to the S port on the TV and use the remote to select the right
input

Right Click the Desktop --Properties/Settings/Advanced
