And your point? Apple has admitted there is an issue and has issued
some ideas on what to do about it. That tells me that a firmware fix
will be coming along in the very near future.
But weak wifi isn't unique to this product at all. In my home network,
which is a mix of 5 Ghz N and 2.4 Ghz G wireless, I had to twiddle
channels a bit when I got my netbook.
Everything else saw the wireless network with nice strong signals and
good throughput. But the netbook was twitchy, signal bars up and down,
dropped connections and poor throughput. This was all on 2.4Ghz as the
netbook, like most windows boxes, doesn't have 5Ghz wireless in it.
I changed the network to all 2.4Ghz N and that worked better on the
netbook, but worse on everything else. So then I changed the N back to
5Ghz and changed channels around on the 2.4Ghz for the G network. Now
all of the devices that are on the G network are working well and so is
the N network.

?? $849?? You can't even get one that costs that much yet...
And I look forward to the firmware update that will bring rev 2 out,
thanks for letting me know I can expect it in a few weeks.
as to your snide remark, I don't lie here. If I post something that
I've done/seen, then I tell it the way it was perceived. You could
actually try doing that yourself on occasion. I know, what a strange

Yeah the firmware is going to add Flash, USB, dual camera, SD, and a
matte screen you can actually use in light.

Don't hold your breath waiting for Flash on the iPad.
As to the other, I know that there are all you checklist readers seem to
think that it needs much more to be viable. Fortunately for Apple, you
aren't the market they want to attract.
A camera would be nice I suppose, but I wouldn't buy one based on a
camera at all. Shitty phone camera doesn't hold a candle to a decent
actual camera. Just a good way to get crappy pictures to bore friends
and family with.
The SD card isn't needed by the target market. And a matte screen
wouldn't help much in bright light.

Why do you guys waste your time with this stuff? Nobody will care or
remember in a couple of months.
And no, there isn't a double standard here. Apple fans in this newsgroup
do this sort of thing with respect to Windows *far* less often than you
guys do it with Apple products, despite there being a lot more
opportunity for it.
I suppose it makes sense; it's part of the larger pattern you guys
demonstrate of being uninterested in or simply incapable of
understanding the big picture stuff.

And of course, what you're really trying to say is that such things
always happen to only Apple and never to anyone else, especially
Windows .... right?

Since MuahBoy isn't willing to stand up for Windows products, it would
certainly appear that way, wouldn't it?

Windows products? You mean Windows OS with 97% WMS? No need to stand up
for that.
The Zune - an mp3 player that has no real effect on the MSFT bottom line -
why would he or anyone try to defend a failure? Only MacFreaks do that. The
XBOX that is a successful product.
Unlike,
Newton
bad Mac / Lucky Goldstar LCD's
Continuing overheating Mac, MacAir, iPhone and iPad problems.
I guess the undeniable fact is; a PC running Windows can do more, better,
and faster, for less money and less problems, than a Mac.

Haven't rebooted my Windows machine since I built it and loaded

Gosh, if that's the case, then you can show OP Tommy how Win7 should
have originally been done on his HP Laptop, including his onboard
Ethernet connection.

I reboot this XP machine every 90 days as a matter of regimen. If you never
shut them down, the HD might freeze in the event of a power outage. A tip I
got from a friend in the business.

Every 90 days?
How many "patch tuesdays" is that?
My XP box doesn't go that long for that very reason, if nothing else
(and there usually are).
