A company can simultaneously have "record sales" while losing share
as determined by OS use on the net. I think these give a good
indication of what's going on:

As everyone but CSMA trolls know Mac sales have been growing
exponentially year over year. That's a FACT. Global market share appears
to be irrelevant in terms of Apple's sales, profits, and valuation.
Fact 1. Apple's market cap exceeds that of Microsoft by $50 billion.
Fact 2. Apple sales revenue exceeded that Microsoft in the quarter just
finished.
Fact 3. Apple profits are almost on a par with Microsoft's and will most
likely exceed MSFT in the coming quarter.
So your assertion that Apple and the Mac are somehow failing is
laughable in the light of verifiable facts. Market share is all you have
left in your troll arsenal. That argument is now falling on deaf ears
across the financial spectrum.
We also notice that CSMA trolls barely mention Dell or HP anymore. Now
it's all Android, until of course the iDevices show up on other networks
and clean Android's clock. Android's sales are dismal in other parts of
the world where the iPhone is available on the same networks. Only in
the U.S., where the iPhone is available only from at&t, do Android
devices have higher sales.
Market share doesn't equate to sales, profits, or stock valuation. Never
has, never will. So you can keep up the market share trolls but we're
laughing at you all the way to the bank.

Fact 4. 240 million PC purchasers had the chance to buy a Mac in the
last 12 months. They bought Windows 7 machines instead. Microsoft is
doing quite well too.

So what Windows 7 machine made by MS did they buy?
The REAL Fact 4: Apple doesn't target the sub-$1000 market
Fact 5: Apple holds over 90% of the $1000+ market

The REAL Fact 4: Apple doesn't target the sub-$1000 market
Fact 5: Apple holds over 90% of the $1000+ market
Fact - you can get a much better machine than a Mac for less than $700
Bucks. The $1000+ market is really no market at all. Do you know what
percentage of computers fall into the $1000+ market? You are a sad joke.

Fact: The concept of a "much better machine" is a subjective one.
Is a Wintel PC a "much better machine" at running BBEdit, Digital
Performer or FCP? The Mac can run those apps *and* Wn apps when
booted into Windows.

The percentage was just large enough that it comprised 1/3 of Apple's
revenue... which topped MS revenue this quarter:
http://touchreviews.net/apple-tops-microsoft-quarter-revenue/
And it was large enough to make Apple worth more than MS as early as
last May:

LOL! You guys must be choking on these articles;)
Don't sweat it... MS is still the king of this number:

All this proves is that we have more stupid people than the rest of
the world. Embarrassing. The rest of the world has figured out that
Apple products are shit. Apple users who are almost exclusively
Democrats really dumb down the country.

So they have 90% of nothing? Get real.

I happen to agree that Apple does not target the $<1000 market... and yet I
have just looked and did not see him show any significant and useful
support.
Even when Steve Carroll is right, he cannot support his views. He is simply
incapable of using logic.

iOS and Android is where the record sales are occurring. OS-X is on a
slight downward trend, but so is Windows. Sales aren't going down for
OS-X or Windows, but iOS and Android are going up percentage wise.
If Apple has any concern, it's not about Mac market share remaining
flat, it's that Android is growing so much faster than iOS. The iPhone
on Verizon will be a big help for iOS, as will greater iPad
manufacturing and distribution.
