Jobs' bio mother, Joanne Schieble/Simpson, is from Green Bay, Wisconsin. 
When she met Abdul at UW Madison her parents weren't too keen on her 
marrying Jandali, thus she and he put their first-born (Steve) up for 
adoption. Two years later, they kept their second child, Mona. 
Ironically, Mona and Steve both wound up in the Bay Area - Simpson 
studied at Berkeley while Jobs was in Palo Alto. Brother and sister 
weren't united until years later after Simpson's best-selling novel 
"Anywhere But Here" had been published.

One little additional factoid. Jobs was born about year after another 
influential Arab American (Lebanese) was born to Green Bay parents - 
Tony Shalhoub, who has been featured in several Pixar films.
