Most Striking iPad Problems
Multitasking Inability
One of the biggest problems with iPad is that you cannot multitask on it!
You cannot prepare a presentation and listen to your favourite Linkin' Park
song on the iPad at the same time. This is one of the biggest iPad problems,
as despite positioned as a replacement for netbooks, it stymies
multitasking! However, the upcoming iOS4 update in September may solve some
of it. Another way to cross this hurdle is to run the "iPod" application
first, play the music, then access other applications while continuing to
listening to the music.
No Camera
The iPad can't shoot! You can view high quality pictures on it, but cannot
take snaps!
Flash Disabled
Not much scope for playing online games as most games and online
applications are flash based. Nowadays, most websites are also flash based
which gives them that extra funk!
Adapters, Oh No!
Want to plug in a digicam? No ways...unless you do it via an adapter. Such a
distraction from the sleek looks, definitely adds to the iPad problems!
Slow to Charge from Laptop
Without a high powered USB port, the iPad takes a very long time to charge
if you wish to charge it by connecting it to an old laptop.
Incompatible with T-Mobile 3G
The iPad's 3G modem supports UMTS/HSDPA (850, 1900, 2100 MHz) and GSM/EDGE
(850, 900,1800, 1900 MHz), whereas T-Mobile's 3G runs on 1700 MHz. Besides,
iPad also uses microSIMs that is hardly used by anyone.
Hardware Installation Restricted
Only those hardware that are approved by APPLE can be installed on the iPad.
Inadequate Storage
With just 64 GB of storage memory, the iPad doesn't justify as a replacement
for notebooks.
Phone calls not Possible
Unless you install a VOiP application, like Skype, making calls is not
possible on the iPad.
Restricted Application Download
For downloading any application, you must use the iPad's application store.
Third party application downloads are rejected by the iPad.
GPS Absent
Unlike gadgets like Verizon, Sprint or T-Mobile, GPS is not supported by
iPad. This is one of the major problems with the iPad, considering that it
is banking on portability as one of its USPs. However, the 3G version does
have a GPS option.
WiFi Problems with iPad
Owners of the iPad often complain of wireless internet access problems on
restarting and after waking from sleep mode.
Word Count Option Absent!
Writing a professional letter or a structured report on iPad? Keep a tab on
the word limit as the iPad does not offer Word Count facility in Pages.
Sinks on the Sync Front
The iPad gives some mild headaches when it comes to synchronising with
Outlook calendar and contacts on your PC.
iPad Unrecognized by iTunes
The iPad is unrecognized by iTunes, once it gets connected to a MAC or PC.
This is related to the USB charging issue and you need to unplug all other
USB devices on your MAC/ PC and reconnect iPad to a different USB 2.0 port
for it to be detected by iTunes.
Virtual Keyboard
The greatest use of the iPad is, high quality portable web browsing for a
long period of time. However, using the virtual keyboard mars the
user-friendliness to a certain degree. However, this can be overcome if you
get a bluetooth keyboard.
Besides the above problems, one major concern for a prospective iPad buyer
is the price. Agreed, the technology offered by it unlocks a new world of
quality portable browsing but considering the fact that the OS used in it
does injustice to its potential, the iPad seems a tad overpriced. All said
and done, it would be unfair to write off this technology judging by the
aforementioned problems with iPad. This is the first version and knowing
APPLE, improvement can be expected in the future versions.

How is refuting your nonsense, "defending a big company against the
consumer".
Apple has offered a product with certain capabilities at a certain price.
If you don't think you get enough for the money...
....then don't buy one.

I suggest you voice your complaint to buzzle.com.

This is an open forum. I can post anything I want. By that same token no
one is forcing you to read anything posted here. So if you don't like it,
stop whining and shove it. Maybe you could complain to someone in
authority.
Another pathetic Apple Jedi defender.

I never suggested you couldn't.

I didn't whine. I correctly identified that you'd posted nonsense.
Any whining was you complaining that Apple not making the iPad precisely
what you want it to be somehow constitutes abuse of the consumer.

There is a touch of irony that you, zara, should pick Kelvin as a new sock

Try to remember, I didn't write the article, ergo, I didn't whine. But you
are. I personally wouldn't own a pathetically underpowered junker iPad
that runs a phone OS. . A small notebook does more and everything better for
me.
How does your iPad stack up against the complaints in the article. Were
there any valid points? Or are you whining that everything was in error?

What happened to this being "This is an open forum." where one "can post
anything [one] wants"?

No, it's not hard at all. An iPad does not have the same form factor
as a laptop.

There could be a Preferences choice "Allow Flash?" Yes / No

From a photography-centric perspective, the two form factors are
actually quite similar: in a word, "Big", and not unlike a large
format bellows camera without a tripod mount, optical viewfinder, or
with the ability to put into one's pocket or fannybag to carry around.

"Coulda, Shoulda, Woulda". There could also be a .357 Magnum built
in; probably be far more popular than Flash :-)

This is just *wrong*. As I type this I am listening to Blur's "Park
Life" and *at the same time* creating a Keynote presentation. On my
iPad. So "one of the biggest problems" turns out to be a non-problem.
Or are you saying there's something special about Linkin' Park songs
that prevents simultaneous work on other software?
And by the way, although in effect my iPad has more or less completely
replaced my MacBook Pro as a travel tool, the iPad is *not* positioned
by anyone who matters as a netbook replacement. No-one I know who uses
an iPad would have considered buying a netbook.
On the (probably reasonable) assumption that the rest of the assertions
original post were equally as factually misinformed as the points
above, I haven't addressed them. And for future reference, if you
expect to be taken seriously, check your facts before posting.
Otherwise you look like an idiot.
Ian.

Is that one of those groups whose lyrics make you stupid?
Or one of those ones where the lyrics are screamed until you go crazy?
(Can you tell I'm old? Give me back my Gregorian chant!)
