On the command line how do you get to a folder with a space in the name,
eg. Adobe cache? Typing cd Adobe cache returns "No such file or

Virtual Box and input devices
Anyone else using the rather nifty VirtualBox app to use Windows
like me? I realised I have no real idea how to use input devices
like USB and CD for it on my Macbook.
(Usually I just use wireless connection and load things from
external servers down to Intel Macbook (but wireless connection
is down for a day or two and offline is the go for the moment on
that laptop).
So, how to get WinXP/VirtualBox to see the USB stick sticking
into the side of the Macbook?

Terminal not behaving as expected
I use Terminal every day (right now, in fact!) for ssh connections
to my ISP's shell server. Here at home, I'm running Terminal v1.5.1
(133-1) on my MaBook under Mac OS X v10.4, and 1.3.3 (82) on my Power
Mac under 10.2.8.
Recently I've been doing a lot of work at a client site, where I've
been using a Power Mac running 10.5. The version of Terminal on that
machine is 2.0.2 (240.2). It has two quirks that are annoying me and
that I haven't been able to change via Preferences, Window Settings,
etc.
One quirk is that the buffer doesn't capture all the text on the

Keynote Issues
I have prepred (painfully) several Keynote presentations of what I'll
call a "sing along" presentation, one where the text of each line of a
song is presented in synchrony with the music itself. What I would like
to be able to do is to have each presentation play without Keynote
first opening following which I have to select Play Slideshow from the
Play menu.
Another issue is that if I export the slideshow to Quicktime the slides
no longer are synchronized to the music.

Moved iTunes music from external to internal HD, now doesn't prompt to move to trash
Gang,
I just acquired a used MacBook Pro, and updated to iTunes 10 before
doing anything with it. I have a copy of my iTunes library on an
external HD, so I connected the HD to the MBP, changed the iTunes
preferences to use that folder, and all was well.
Then I changed my mind and decided to copy the music over to the MBP's
internal HD. Did that, changed the prefs again, back to that folder,
but now every time I try to play a song it gives me the exclamation
point and message that it cannot find the file. I can then navigate to
it, and it then asks me whether I want to use that lo

Unison 2.1 questions...
- When I right-click on a message in a group and choose a colour,
Unison 2.1 colours the message as expected. However, when I visit
another group and then come back to the first group, the message is no
longer coloured.
This used to work up until about two weeks ago. In fact, some of my
older messages are still coloured. As far as I know, I have not
changed anything in the Unison settings.
- Is there any way I can change the font size in the windows panes
(the ones showing the groups and the message headers, not the one
showing the actual message contents)?

10 things Apple can do to rescue its experiment in social networking
Apple (AAPL) announced Friday that less than 48 hours after its launch

NEW YORK (CNNMoney.com) -- The iPod helped Apple rise from the dead in
the last decade. But the iPod Classic, the device that jump-started that

Apple's decision to completely ignore the iPod Classic means that 2010
will be the first year in the iPod's nine-year history in which the
Classic doesn't get even a slight upgrade. That fueled another round of

iTunes 10 provides a different layout for the Close, Minimize and Maximize

Reverting the buttons to a horizontal layout can easily be done. With

To restore the vertical layout, simply use this command:

It appears the automatic downloads for titles and album names is pretty
good. The composer category is iffy. Sometimes it is blank so you can

My problem is the album art. I seem to get only about 60% of my albums.
What can I do about that? More important, I sometimes get wrong albums.
For example, I got a Janis Joplin album picture for a Jimi Hendricks

Alternatively, is there a simpler way to email one of the tables from

wireless WEP key required except for booting
I've noticed that when booting and my WiFi is

If I simply reboot the Mac, it then "remembers"

IMac Mail Won't quit
I've had this problem now a couple of times, the last time I thought i
had it fixed by deleting the Gmail accounts I have. I have 2 regular
POP accounts and for some reason now when i close down mail, it won't
quit. 3 sec later it pops right back up in my open systems. Force
quit isn't helping either.
Any ideas? I'm running current versions of everything.
thanks
Mark
