I want to step down through two slightly different versions of the same
PDF document (two PDF slide shows, actually, either one of which may
have a slide the other is lacking, or a new or updated version of a
slide) so I can stop and correct differences where I encounter them;
continue scrolling; then at the end delete one of them, keep the other
as the master or archive version.
Any way to do this kind of simultaneous stepping in Acrobat, with both
documents open in Window => Tile = Horizontally display, so that I can
step both documents forward one page, without having to alternatively
click and step in each window separately? (Some text editors have a
"synchronized scrolling" capability, which can be really handy for this
kind of comparison.)
Can't do the underlying task in Pages view with lots of small icons
shown in each window because I need a larger display of the slide in
each window to see possible small differences.
Maybe an AppleScript that would step each document by one page?
Or add some kind of action to every page in one document, that would
simultaneously step the other?
Or a third one page "driver" PDF document that would step the other two?
(Unfortunately, I'm not skilled enough to try programming any of these
ideas myself).

Why not just use the Compare Documents feature in Acrobat?

Searching under "Compare" in Acrobat 7.0 Standard help or Help Index
brings up mention of ways to
* Compare PDF document to a web site from which it was created
* Compare signed document (after signing) to document before signing.
but no way to just compare two unsigned documents (and essentially zero
info on just how either of these capabilities actually work).
Maybe the second one would be used, but given that I want to edit out
the differences one by one as I step thru the two, I'm skeptical enough
that I doubt I'l spend time trying.

I believe you need the "professional" version of Acrobat 6 or 7.
