Appletalk filesharing speed issues

  • Follow

At my organization, we have a huge PC network and a tiny Macintosh network. I
myself need to use Dave for my Mac to access the PC's. I do not understand why
when I turn on Appletalk filesharing my computer seems a third slower, but when
I use PC file sharing with Dave my computer is not in the least any slower.

When I can connect to a Mac I consider Appletalk far superior in features to
SMB.. Its only 1MB per second which is slow (as fast as USB 1.1), and SMB
seems 4-6MB per second.

Is there a way around the slowness of filesharing? Or to increase the
Appletalk data transfer speed?

Thanks...

Please explain why you think anyone should feel inclined to help you.
Actions have consequences, you know. You also know that in the past
I've tried to help you probably more than anyone else around here, but
with your recent antics I think you've crossed the line.

Now, I see that you've gotten responses to the same question you didn't
properly crosspost to another newsgroup, so your problem should be
solved now. Just bear in mind that, the more of your bull we see, the
less likely it is you'll continue to receive assistance.
