Compact flash vs. USB flash drive

  • Follow

For large transfers between my Mac and PC Laptop I usually use a CF disk. My
PC uses the PC card slot, and the Mac uses an external USB drive. Darn the
PC's CF drive outspeeds the external USB drive for the Mac anyday. Despite the
fact that my Mac is twice as fast.

Networking the two works, but requires me to purchase extra software like Dave
which will not happen.

Can anyone say that CF disk drives should be the floppy replacement? Sony
desktops include built in CF drives, and I believe all Macs should also. No
more external's. We need a good floppy replacement, and I am certain that CD's
are not it. CD's are great for file distribution, audio, movies, and archiving
files, but not for work. CF cards work just like floppies I call them super
floppies. The only problem is the disks are so expensive.

Use a firewire CF drive. USB wasn't built for speed...
