I got great help here with my recent dilemma regarding Snow Leopard and
Lion on the same MacPro. Final result - partitioned second hard drive
and installed Lion on one of them my computer can now be booted via
whichever one I select in "StartUp Disk" in preferences. And they work
very well, thank you all very much!
However, when I installed, I bypassed the option to import everything
off of Snowleapard. It didn't make sense to copy all the apps over and
all of my maiboxes many of which have thousand of emails going back over
10 years. But, when attempting to launch and of the apps it wants
registration entered all over again (dreading digging through boxes
looking for reg cards!).
And last, everything in SL filevault is unreachable. Don't really want
to duplicate everything and end up with a nearly unmanageable amount of
douments, pictures, movies, etc. So, ....
1. Can I go through the installer again to have it bring stuff to Lion?
2. Does Lion really copy all apps over or just the permissions?
3.Anyway to get SL filevault access thru Lion?
Thanks for all your help,
Lyndon
