How Unlock CD, So I Can Write More

  • Follow

I am using an eMac with system 10.4.1 ------ I have burned to CDs but
nothing shows up on them. The CD/DVD drive whirs away. Disk Utility
(v. 10.5.6) says that it is burning a CD. When it's finished the CD
is empty and I have no access to it. Since there is plenty of space
on the 3 CDs I've tried to burn things to I would like to know if
there is a way to make them accept writing. --------Thank you for
helping me with this.

You would need a rewriteable CD. I suggest though that you have a batch
of bad CDs or your eMac's CD burner isn't working.

CD drives can be quite picky about what brands (or even batches of the
same brand) of disc they will write to. If you're in any doubt about
whether your CD drive is working, try a reputable brand of CD-R like
Verbatim, as I've never had one of those fail.
