Large file transfer software.
Dear members:
I am looking for software to send large files that surpass the size usually
allowed as attachments by e-mail servers and ISPs.
So far I have tried FastSend and FileChute but haven't been impressed by
either since they are not as simple to use as I feel they should be.
FileChute requires a .Mac account to make it work and FastSend is a
subscription based service that costs $199 for a one year subscription (
expensive in my opinion).
Are there any solutions that are both simple and inexpensive (or preferably
free) ?
Any suggestions will be appreciated.
Best regards,
Joseph Chamberlain

- free: box.net , up to 1 Gb. As usual, free service come with no
guarantee and may well close or turn paying next week: use them rather
for immediate issues rather than recurring, long-term ones.
- in the range of 10-20 $ or euros/year: register in a cooperative web
host, not only they'll offer you an ftp server (with generally the
possibility to create as many users that you want), but you also get
your own http host, email, maillist creation capability etc.
(one out of many: www.ouvaton.coop, even offers you one full free month
of hosting for trying, and costs IIRC a dozen euros per year. I have
been a user for years there.)

You could set up Gmail accounts.
