Microsoft Mouse: Snap-To Feature

  • Follow

My microsoft mouse used to snap to buttons like,"okay" and "save". My
new microsoft mouse which I use with OS 10+ does not do this. The
option does not appear in the mouse preferences panel. Any ideas on
how I can get this feature back? Thank you. Earl Williams, Surrey,

Apple's software doesn't do this. However, there are 3rd party drivers
which do. One is SteerMouse available via VersionTracker:

http://www.versiontracker.com/dyn/moreinfo/macosx/27620

The blurb on the page says:

'SteerMouse can assign various functions to buttons that Apple's
software does not allow, including double-clicks, modifier clicks,
application switching, assignment of shortcut keys, "snap to" cursor
movement, which moves the cursor to target (such as an OK button), and
more.'

There is another similar product which is widely used but its name
escapes me at the moment and it didn't show up on a search for 'mouse
driver' on VersionTracker.

best of luck,

USB Overdrive doesn't have a snap-to function that I can find.
