MT-NW 3.4 Just how does the database file work?
The documentation says this file uses message-IDs to mark messages read
on another servera great conceptbut I've never seen it actually work.
The Help warns that it may get cumbersomely large. Mine never grows.
Just once I saw a fleeting dialogue telling me something (it was very
fleeting) might be due to database corruption and to simply trash the
file.
I've done that and a new, no-growing, unresponsive file gets created (in
Users/<myshortname>/Library/Preferences/MT-Newswatcher Prefs .
Somewhere I must have set some pref wrong, put something in the wrong
place (the app is in the main Applications folder), but what? Everything
else about this beauty programme works a treat. Any suggestions about
getting this bit up to speed?
TIA

There's a Pref for it in Preferences->Article Management. "Mark
articles read that have been read on another server".

Sorry, stupid of me. That's my problem. The Pref is checked, the DB
never changes, and nothing read on another server winds up
marked/deleted or anything.
