Order of menu bar items?

  • Follow

Hi,

I have a bunch of 3rd party utes that put icons in the menu bar. Is
there a way to force these things into a certain order? i.e, I want
the Clock/Date utility (TimeStat) to come up first, at the far right,
then the Classic icon, Now Contact, etc.

Thanks...

The items on the right side of the bar? Have you tried
Command-dragging?

Do any of them have lists of recent apps and docs, listed separately, i.e. as
submenus? The OS's list, with both on one menu, gets unwieldly.

Welcome to the Mac, eh? ;-)

Fruit Menu will do this under the Apple menu and lots more.

Nuts. Doesn't work for all.

Probably these 3rd party developers didn't know either that they are
supposed to provide this functionality via Cmd-drag.

That works for some (Classic menu, Now Utilities, Script menu) and not
for others (all third party).
