Mixed memory in mid 2013 27: iMac

My mid 2013 27" iMac came with 2 4GB memory sticks is slots 1 & 3.
I want to add 2 8GB sticks. Should I put them in slots 2 & 4 or move
the 4GB sticks to slots 1 & 2 (3 & 4) and put the 8GB sticks in
slots 3 & 4 (1 & 2)?

Thanks in advance.

Follow Apple's example and pair the sticks in the odd slots or the even
slots. I don't think there's any advantage to putting the larger sticks
in 1/3 instead of 2/4; but if there is, Memory Slot Utility should tell
you on startup.

The paired memory should be in 1 & 3 and 2 & 4. If does not matter
in which set of slots you put which pair of memory.

Should should not put mismatched RAM in 1 & 2 or 3 & 4.

How to drive an iMac G4 display from non-mac hardware?
Hello all, first of all, is this the right group? Do you deal in just video editing hardware or also in the internal workings of the standard Mac/iMac hardware? Basically I would like to take an iMac G4 (the anglepoise one) case without the actual mac motherboard/PSU etc and interface a mini-itx motherboard to it for one of my own linux-based hardware projects, and am trying to find someone who knows how the *internal* connections are set up and what kind of signals are required to drive it. I don't need details on the *external* connections, there are ready-made converters fo...

Memory compatibility ->imac G3 to imac G4
This should be an easy question. I have a G3 imac 600 and am thinking of upgrading to a G4 imac. When I bought the G3 I upgraded the RAM. Can I place the 512MB SDRAM PC100-2225 in an imac G4. I'm guessing probably not, but if anybody knows please advise. Mac out of memory
I am trying to open a large file (~300MB) consisting of uint8 values in a 3006 X 255 X 255 array. When using the fread command, e.g., fid = fopen(filename,'r'); A = fread(fid,'uint8'); I get the standard "out of memory error". I don't understand this as the max array size for my mac (Macbook Pro, 2GB RAM, OS X 10.5.3, Matlab R2008a) is ~1606e6 and my array is only ~200e6 elements. Also, I have 2 GB physical memory (of which 1.4 GB is shown to be free in my activity monitor) and have over 70 GB free on my HD (activity monitor shows 54 GB available for VM...

Can I put any PC2700 DDR SDRAM in a G4 (the one with the mirrored drive doors) or do I have to buy overpriced "Apple" sticks From what I can make out the memory is the same as in my PC I've been given a price of over 100 per 512Mb stick from a Mac reseller, I can buy the same from a PC dealer for less than half Why is Mac hardware so expensive? a lot of it seems to be very similar to PC kit --- Outgoing mail is certified Virus Free. Hardware with Mac
I'm in the final stages of planning a move to Mac after using MSDOS/Windows computers since the early Intel 8088 days. If I make the switch it will be to either the desktop or portable dual core Mac. I've asked in another forum about the software I might need and wonder about printers, scanners etc. I use a Canon miltifunction and don't see anything on the CD about a Mac OS so I'm assuming I'll need a new printer/scanner etc. I've always like HP and I know they make several models...are any of them Mac operational? If not, is there a multi function un...
