How to center photo on printer page?

  • Follow

I have a HP Deskjet 5550 con nected to an eMac with OS X (10.2.8).

When I print the image, it prints justified to one side of the page. I don't
see any options to center the image on the page in either Page Set up or the
Print dialog.

How can I center the image on the page?

Thanks,

What software are you using to display the image?

Try printing with GraphicConverter instead. m.

Thanks for the suggestion.

This would be fine for the occasional picture, and I'll use it as such. But
every time I want to print an image off the web that is smaller than a full
page, how can I get it to center on the page?

You have to download it and use an application like GraphicConverter.
Web browsers can't do what you want.

The only application I know of that does this is GraphicConverter (and I
have tried many).

Not even Photoshop 7 can do it.

Photoshop Elements will do it, if you go through the Print Preview window.

That's interesting, as I'm currently looking at several large photographs,
printed from Photoshop 7, with the images all neatly centred on the page.

You might wantg to try "print with preview".

Indeed, Print with Preview has a little check box titled Center Image.

Thanks!

Print with Preview only works if the margins of the printable area of
your printer are symmetric, which is the case in new printers that can
print with 0 margins. But if you have an older HP or EPSON, where the
bottom margin is wider then the top margin, Photoshop is only able to
center with respect to the printable area and not with respect to the
paper.
