And note that he's an MCSE, or at least claims to be one...

If this is the educational level of MCSE's, then no wonder the Mac can't
get a really good foothold in the business world.

I think you need to read it again, as you obviously missed the point.

I think that you missed the satire.

Well, reading it again, I still don't see that I missed anything.

I've seen lots of similar misinformed anti-Mac articles. I know people
who believe in things like that article.

If it's satire...I don't see it. Maybe someone could explain it?

Easy:

"My Office 2003 CD would not install, despite claims I had heard from
Mac fanboys that OS X is compatible with Office."

"When I consider that a good deal of my time is spent running
applications like Disk Defragmenter, Scandisk, Norton AV, Windows Update
and Ad-Aware--none of which are available for the Mac platform--it
doesn't make sense for me to "switch" to a Mac at this time."

I think it's satirical *because* it sounds so ill-informed.

You are kidding, right? The article is just *DRIPPING* with satire.

The main butt of most of the jokes is that the fellow explains what he
spends most of the time doing on his Windows box and most of the
software that he has on it... and it is pretty much all activities and
software to work around Windows-related problems instead of actually
using the system to get anything useful done.

And don't tell me that you didn't notice his comments about all the
applications that get installed on his Windows box without his even
having to do anything at all? Or maybe you failed to notice that the
list of "applications" cited were all malware of some kind or other.

And then there are little jabs like his complaints that Apple's mail
application is hard to find because it is obscurely named mail instead
of something obvious like outlook express.

And on and on....

I found it hilarious.

OK, so it's satire and I missed it, but...

....I see Windows people all the time wondering why they can't install
their Windows programs on a Mac. This a couple of times has been people
who do Windows for a living.

This one slipped by me as a friend spent the weekend trying to restore
his registry, get Disk Defrag and Scandisk to run, getting Norton AV to
let him install stuff so he could get Windows updated and then tracking
down his anti-spyware apps to make certain they were running.

I guess I expect that out of Windows as that's mostly what I hear from
my Windows using friends.

I apparently have some ill-informed friends...

And...(combined for convenience)

Other stuff covered above, but I have had a couple of switchers ask
where Outlook Express was...and didn't understand that you could do
e-mail without either Outlook or a web interface.

And I also apparently need to get out more...

I liked this line a lot:
"[...]during normal operation the unit makes no sound whatsoever. This
could make it very difficult for a novice user to know whether or not
the computer is on."
