[MacG4/OS9.2.2/Epson Color Stylus 740] Printer port option [right side of
Chooser window] does not display when printer chosen in left side. Also
cannot activate background printing. This happened when some printer
lights improperly displayed: power light flashes (allegedly signaling
print job), paper light flashes but paper OK, both cartridge lights on but
ink OK and recently printed OK. Installed new printer driver. Uninstalled
and reinstalled new printer files. Disconnected printer from computer but
printer still displays false lighting. Disconnected printer from power.
Jiggled black ink cartrdge. Disconnected scanner. Used second USB port.
All failed. I hope that I don't have to reinstall OS. Very difficult to
know if cause is computer or printer. Murphy's miserable Law at exact
moment when I needed printing for TV show. Before I use emergency tool,
ie, sledge hammer (a small one for close in and personal), can anyone
help? Will drink a beer in your name.
