hi all,
I set a password on my mac os 9 but forgot the password. Is there a way I
can reset it?

I assume that you're running Multiple Users? If so then you need to:
1 boot from a System CD
2 remove the Multiple Users stuff (control panel, extension, preferences)
3 reboot and make sure that you can boot okay.
4 put back the MU control panel and extension (but NOT the prefs) and reboot.
You should be okay. If you're not, you need to boot from the System CD again
and do a clean install.
If you're _not_ running Multiple Users then you may have a problem, depending
on which system you are running. Be advised that some systems lock up your
Mac so that you _can't_ boot from a system CD, or so that if you do boot from
a CD you can't see the hard drive. If you're using one of those, you're
pretty much screwed.
If you don't have a system CD you're in big trouble.
