Syncing iPhone calendars - why does iTunes display that message EVERY time?!

  • Follow

word up peeps,

i've been using my iPhone. I think it's dope and that but every time
it detects the slightest change i get a pop-up message in iTunes
saying '1 new item - Allow?'. Why does it want to ask me permission
every time there is a change in contacts or calendars? Just do it,
goddamit!

.... the "why" is easy to answer: It prevents changes on your iPhone to
accidentally get synced back to the computer and hence overwriting the
information on your computer. That makes perfect sense in some
situations and I for one am very happy to have that feature available.

You can change that setting, however. Launch "iSync" and go to its
preferences. There's a section "Protect you data on this computer".
Uncheck the checkbox unter that title next to "Show data change alert
when"...

If the checkbox is checked you can tell it to warn for any change, for
changes of more than 5%, 25% or 50% of your data.

To disable all warnings, simply uncheck the checkbox. Next time you
sync there will be no more questions, no matter which information will
be overwritten and in which direction.

Hope this helps.
