With my recently installed AirPOrt Extreme Base Station I get good WiFi
performance with my MBP, much better than had been the case with the old
AirPort Express that it replaced. So far so good.
If my wife uses her iPad at the same time as I am using my MBP, however,
my throughput drops to a painful crawl- like hearkening back to dialup
slow (not literally but it seems that way when I'm annoyed by this).
Overall her iPad's WiFi performance seems fairly poor at the best of
times.
Anyway: typical for the iPad? Something I can fix in my setup of the
AEBS, the MBP or the iPad?
Thanks!

Check with the Airport Utility to see how your AE is configured. If it
is set for a dual network, the iPad might be connecting to the slower
802.11g instead of 802.11n which your MBP is mostly likely connecting to.
And yes, the network connection on the iPad seems slower to me and
testing shows it that way also.
