Because it is.

I just tested what you want to do. iDVD asked me to locate the source
files when I opened the project.

Because of the **encoded files** iDVD makes from the source files that
make the result playable on a DVD player.

If you're sure you will never make another change you should make a disc
image and you can delete everything but if you ever need to make a
change, iDVD will look for the source files and, if it can't find them,
you're outta luck.

From the Help file...
When you add a movie or picture to your iDVD project, the project
contains a reference to the location of the file on your hard disk, not
the actual movie or picture file. If you delete or move the file from
its original location, your iDVD project can no longer access it. Don't
delete or move files you add to your iDVD project until after you're
sure you won't be editing or changing the project.

Because of the encoded files might be a little more clear.

Ah, clarity... After a quarter century supporting users, I find it's
somewhat overrated.

Curt/blunt statements of the obvious generally require less typing.

;-)

And 95% of the time, people don't *really* want to know the whys and
wherefores, they just want somebody to say something that makes them
feel good. Witness elections in any constituency anywhere in the world.

Nobody had more of a "feel good" platform than Dave Smilin' Balderstone
in Winnipeg-Ft. Garry in 1980. I wonder why he only got 1% of the vote?

:D

Swept my immediate circle of friends, and kicked the CPC(ML) commie's
ass. 405 votes. Not too shabby for a Rhino running against Axworthy.
