Mail junk mail filtering problem

I just started emailing photos from my cell phone to my home email
address, but I'm finding that they all end up in the Junk folder. I
added the email address to my Address Book. I have the preference set to
exempt emails with sender from my Address Book. The Trust junk mail
headers set by my ISP is off.

I even have a rule that changes the color for all people that are in my
Address Book. So these emails arrive color coded as being a known
address, the from field actually shows my name from my address book, but
still they keep showing up in my Junk email box. I've clicked Not Junk
for each one of them and that hasn't had any effect on future emails,
either.

I also restarted both Mail and Address Book and I tried rebooting my
computer, thinking maybe something needed to be updated.

Any help would be appreciated.

Try setting up a new filter, such that any message from your cell which
is also (according to the app) junk mail, is automatically routed to
the Inbox.

I started doing this, but came up with a better solution along the way.

If you look at the Junk preferences and click on the Advanced tab,
you'll see that part of the Junk filtering is implemented as a rule.
Since my messages were being color code by one of my own rules, it was
clear that this Junk rule is applied after my own rules. With that in
mind, in my own rule that applies color to message with senders that are
in my Address Book, I added another action on the end to "Stop
evaluating rules." That did the trick. Apparently, not only does the
Junk rule get applied after all my rules, but the application of the
Junk label gets applied at that time. The message are now left in my
inbox, colored coded and _not_ designated as Junk.

Thanks to Babaganoosh for setting me down this path.

Note that I'm still confused about why these message are designated as
junk in the first place, but I guess I just don't need to know.

If you want to know (and according to my opinion have a better spam
filter) try SpamSieve http://c-command.com/spamsieve/ (30d trial, USD
25). Works with Apple Mail as well many other mail programmes.

Junk mail handling problems in Mail.app
Since upgrading to Panther I have encountered trouble getting junk mail handling to work properly. I don't know whether its a bug in "Mail" or a local problem. What happens is this. If the Preferences are set to "When Junk Mail arrives -- Move it to the Junk mailbox (Automatic)" the Junk mail Icon (in the Mailboxes drawer) increments up as Junk messages arrive. The number of messages is shown alongside the Icon. However, when the Icon is selected none of these messages are listed in the main window. Junk mail not going to junk mail folder.

Why is SpamWatch is junking my mail from a mailing list?
Just in the last couple of days, Eudora 6.0 has been assigning spam scores of 99 to all the mail from a certain mailing list I subscribe to. I went into the UserJunkDB.txt file and removed all references to the mailing list title, then rescored a bunch of the mail from that list and it still posted it at a score of 99. I "unjunked" the messages, and when I recalculated the scores, they still came up at 99. Apparently some keyword gets them marked as spam. Any ideas how I can determine what words in a message get it marked as spam? Along the same lines, is there any way to create a log file of what filters cause a message to do what it does? Ideally, there would be a record of the message Sender, Subject and what rule(s) it fired. Mail Alert when only junk mail received

I don't hear an alert when junk mail is received because at Tools -> Options -> "Getting Attention" I don't have the box "Play a sound" ticked. I use Tools -> Filters to designate different sounds for my incoming emails and at the same time sort them into different mail boxes. When Eudora announces an email I know by the specific sound whether it is a personal email, a newsletter or something else. If an incoming email doesn't fit the criteria of my other filters, the last filter sends it to the "May be junk" mail box with an appropriate sound. -- Chris Bee "Bumblebee" <chris_bee@address.invalid> wrote in message news:qtt4ovc46fhjmr...
