More details, please. What kind of info? How detailed? What kind of
access, sorting, etc. do you need to do with it?

Do a search at versiontracker.com for "contact management" as a
starting point.

I find that one can do a lot with Address Book. You can modify and add all
kinds of fields.

If you need basic contact management, Apple's Address Book works fine.

A wallet with pockets for business cards?

Palm OS ?

Do you meet them in your computer room?

OK, be serious. Like folks said, Address Book is pretty good.

Or Palm Desktop--synchronize it to a Palm device that you can carry with
you.

Problem with the electronic solutions is that folks may not be thrilled
at having you take notes on them when you meet them. Much easier to
accept a business card. You could copy data from it later, but you
could also just write notes on the back of it and stick it in a little
Rolodex-like file.

Keep business cards and write notes on them? They are not searchable or
sortable. At least not automatically. How would you ever find anything
in them? I recommend the address book, too.

I'm a Mac user myself, but for my work I use MS Outlook. From what I've
seen MS Entourage offers equal functionallity than Outlook which is
excellent.

Cheerz!

Any database application (like Appleworks). Enter the info once and
rearrange it into any form you like - address labels, hair color...
