Except that it's the 2001 version, which uses the custom .apk format -
which means you'll need to install all those maps down a serial cable
with the official installer. (Slow, and not doable at all if you don't
use Windows.)
(I am glad to see that the standard rants about legality have not
occurred.)

Hi Roger. If I remember from another thread, when you request a map
the installer assembles a standard sis file in a temporary folder and
then hands it to Psiwin for the transfer. Apparently the pc-only trick
is to stop it there and keep the file.
Incidentally I had this software myself and last year contacted the
suppliers as one of the map areas in Scotland was missing from the
original disk and I happened to be going there. They point-blank
refused to support it and would not be budged, so I assume it is
abandonware now.

Fair enough. (Last time I tried this it wouldn't work under WINE.)

There's abandonware, and there's "we won't try to sue you if people take
an interest in it and we decide it might be worth money after
all"-ware...

Roger, I have checked up my backups and have found the map directories
for a large chunk of the UK (incl all of Scotland, total about 40Mb)
which I can put on Rapidshare for you. You just need to copy them into
the Street folder and off you go. This is assuming you are in the UK
of course!
I also have a working Palmtop GPS receiver that accompanies the
software, and also works with RealMaps etc, let me know if you would
be interested in this (I was going to stick it on ebay).

Perhaps I was not being clear - _I_ already have CityMaps 2003 (the full
European edition). I wrote code to allow the CAB files that its maps
come in to be converted to installable SIS files
(http://firedrake.org/roger/psion/citymaps2003.html) so that you don't
need to touch the official installer at all. What I have been looking
for is a way to allow other people to get access to the map data...

That sounds quite interesting. This email address will work, or you
could do obvious things to it to get though faster.
