Why are we being repeatedly spammed with Simpsons porn spam? after
all, this is comp.sys.sinclair, not
alt.sex.it's-a-cartoon-you-bloody-moron...
I'm also surprised that La Farthead hasn't at least once reposted one
of the spams in its entirety, for the benefit of anyone who hasn't
seen it yet. :-)

Not just c.s.s I lurk in alt.war.nuclear and they're getting it too though
to be honest since sept 11th, that group might as well be renamed
alt.war.crackpots and doomsayers :( though there are still some intelegent
discussions there.

A lot of the material was from the hysterically funny tour (on DVD - Peter Kay
live at the Bolton halls)

At some point in the past (Thu, 05 Aug 2004 06:43:05 GMT, as it
happens), somebody called deKay <andyk@lofi-gaming.org.uk> made the

Didn't he start out as an impressionist? ISTR a bloke looking like him doing

because his impressions were crap and his material was weak.

Who didn't? It was the only thing worth watching.
Did anyone else here see his first ever TV appearance on the BBC's
stand-up competition from the Edinburgh Fringe a few years back? Can you
believe he didn't even win his heat? I knew we hadn't seen the last of
that bloke.

I thought he started out on Sky's Gamesworld program as one of the
(whatever they called them) that you had to defeat to win... whatever
the prize was. (note, Gamesworld, not GamesMaster (C4)) I believe he had
the role of "Big Boy Barry" with the catchphrase "Big is best" - later
the Gamesworld thing splitting off to be "apparently" be run from his
penthouse apartment... or something like that.
NM - also, GamesWorld had the first appearances of David Walliams (of
Little Britain fame) who was both BBB's sidekick, and in later shows, a
variety of "little Britain" type games-obsessed characters.

(I'm assuming the link and comment is to the catchphrase... or a typo.
If it is the former, I see what you mean and agree (although I've always
preferred things a bit more "realistically sized"...) however if the
latter, well, I'll wait for a correction before commenting... and if it
is neither of these, I answer with confused stares, head scratching and

Ah...
Quoting: "Anyway, as for Big Boy Barry (real name Alex Verrey - not
overly sure of the spelling), the last thing I saw of him was at this
link - http://www.joytech.net/barry_archive.asp"
(that link no-longer works... mostly because they're using php it looks
like... :-) anyway, on http://www.joytech.net/gb/corporate/contact.php
he's listed as the PR and Communications manager.)
Well, that's me with egg on me face.
Was I right about David Walliams ?
NM - Nothing more to say. Pretend I wasn't here. Unless you already do. um.

Peter Kay is also the same guy, as I was reminded recently, who the
Sun completely blasted on their front page in 1998, for telling a
"sick joke" at a BBC dinner.
So disgusting and sick was the joke, that Sun had no option but to
print it in full...

Big Boy Barry just wasn't Peter Kay, despite the uncanny resemblance.

Not sure, but there was some weird bloke a bit like him, who used to
appear every weekday, dressed as different characters (mostly women,
so, er, yeah, could be him), chromakeyed against videogame footage,
giving out tips and cheats.
Not a patch on Nam Rood...
