change SC0 and SC1 Ip Address on Sunfire 4800

  • Follow

Hi
I'm trying to find out which are the exactly steps to reconfigure ip
address for SC0 and SC1 on a Sunfire 4800.
And do you know if this operation will give a domain downtime?

Thanks.
M.

It's fairly straightforward:

1. Log on to the platform console.
2. Use the "setupplatform" command. This is an interactive command which
allows you to configure various parameters for the system of which two
are for the SC IP addresses. For those parameters you do not wish to
change just press enter to accept the current value.
3. If you're connected to the SC via the network you can make the
changes but will be disconnected immediately once the new IP address
takes effect (when you complete the "setupplatform" command). You can
then reconnect via the new IP
4. The change will not disrupt the operation of a domain (at least it
does not on an SF3800 with SC version 5.20.5).
