If it says command not found, that would seem to indicate that you
don't have quite
the technical knowledge needed to understand what was posted. Re-
installing the OS
isn't going to help you.

And the information, as presented, may not get you on to the Internet
anyway.
We don't know what you network configuration looks like. Are you
using the
private 192.168.X.X network? Are you on 10.X.X.X? 172.16.X.X? Do you
have a proxy?
Etc. etc. etc.

You haven't really provided enough information.

What options did you select for the network configuration when you
installed? If you can't remember, run 'sys-unconfig' and run through
the setup again.

Before you run "sys-unconfig" RTFM and KNOW what it does. You will be
expected to supply your IP address, your netmask, your Time-Zone the
addresses of three or more DNS servers, etc, etc. This is essentially
the same dialog that you go through when you install Solaris for the
first time.

The very FIRST thing it does is to wipe your existing configuration if
there is one. This has the advantage of giving you a clean start. It
has the disadvantage that you MUST know what you are doing!

Good luck!

I wish I had read this about a month ago. I have been retired for ten years
and since my trusty Suns have required little maintenance over this time,
brain fade had set in.
I had to re-configure the network and just could NOT recall the name of that
command, so had to do it bit by bit!
